Altadena is located directly north of Pasadena with an abruptly rising San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop. According to the 2010 Census Bureau, the population of the city was 42,777. Altadena is a community full of history and diversity that is one of the oldest and most beautiful communities in the San Gabriel Valley. It has remained an unincorporated area within Los Angeles County since 1887. Their Town Council is among the Fifth District’s most well-developed and holds 16 members that are elected as an advisory body that assists resident’s needs with public agencies, the Supervisor of the Fifth District, and official representative on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Altadena is also known for its tree-lined neighborhoods such as the well-known Christmas Tree Lane that has been around for over 80 years. The “Mile of Christmas Trees” is considered the oldest large-scale Christmas lighting spectacle in the United States.
